Originating from Yunnan province, China—believed to be the ancestral home of all Chinese tea plants—Pu-erh tea is produced using unique cultivation and fermentation methods unlike any other tea. The tea bushes grow alongside tall, aromatic trees, and after harvest, the leaves are composted and aged to develop Pu-erh’s distinct earthy character.

This large leaf variety is fragrant, smooth, sweet, and deeply grounding. Pu-erh can be black, green, or scented, and is traditionally aged—some for four years or more, others for decades.

With lower caffeine content than typical black or green teas, Pu-erh is often enjoyed after meals for its believed digestive and cholesterol-lowering benefits—backed by growing research. Adding milk is not recommended, but you’re welcome to experiment and enjoy it your way.

Brew approximately 1 teaspoon (2g) per cup, adjusting to your personal taste.
